thanks for your response. i keep the rooster separate from the hens so i don't
think it's just chickens picking on other chickens. i feed them organic layer
pellets with grass and greens daily. they live in pens in my backyard. The hens
are americaunas (easter egg chickens) and the rooster is something else--the
usual white with red comb type.
