Hello Dean,
Cider vinegar is indeed excellent stuff, but I don't think that it takes
care of worms. We have a special machine to measure out 1% into our
watering system, basically it lowers the PH in the gut creating a
slightly hostile environment for some bacteria & protozoa such as
coccidia. The yeasts vits & minerals are also said to be beneficial.
We use cider vinegar, yoghurt & porridge instead of in feed
coccidiostats for our birds. A few weeks ago a few pens of chicks
started to look as if they were going down with cocci. This is something
which has never happened here before. I quickly gave these pens a
coccidiocide & asked my husband whether the cider vinegar was being put
through the system as he had been cleaning out the system a couple of
weeks earlier. It turned out that the cider vinegar had been going
through at 0.1% instead of 1% since the system had been cleaned, as my
husband had forgotten to readjust the measuring gadget. This reinforced
my opinion that cider vinegar is pretty handy stuff.
For worming though garlic is said to be good but we tend to play safe &
use flubendazole ( brand name flubenvet) & moxidectin (brand name
cydectin).
Good luck.
