I don't know for sure with sebrights. I've got various colours of laced
wyandottes, most have excellent lacing which can be seen quite early. I
have however one line which are less consistent with the quality of
lacing, these sound similar to your sebrights, these need to be left for
quite a few months before one can really tell whether their lacing will
be passable, it can improve, but is rarely as nice as one would like.
Personally I'm outcrossing to lines with consistently good lacing in
order to try to resolve the problem.
