Hi!
Which begs the question, "What approach did you use to get the ADULTS
to come back to their pen?" I have not had a problem until breeding
season, then they all forgot that they have a pen and feed. They run
the cats off their food each morning instead. Now I've lost three
females to raccoons taking them off their roost at night. I'm amazed
that I've acutally had ten keets hatch from a nest that was over a
month old (estimating from the number of eggs and date first found)
that I put in the incubator. Nothing to lose, right? It was found in
some brush in my neighbor's field.
I don't want to have the same problem with these new birds.
The "pen" is a modified stall in the barn with secure doors and plenty
of roosting space as well as nesting areas suitable for each breed of
bird.
The ducks go in with no problem, just "quack" and they come running.
Geese are the same. Guineas pretend to be doing what you want, then
turn at the last moment. All breeds have their own stalls. What am I
doing wrong? I haven't quite gotten into their heads yet.
Thanks for any help you can give me!
