Why not look around your area and see if you can find a classic example of the
Cornish, a world famous breed created right in England for the table, so many
years ago. Here in the US they are still the mainstay of commercial ag, crossed
with a Plymouth Rock hen to give a peculiar bird that grows way too fast to
have enough flavor, but most everyone here is in a big hurry and they don't
wait around to taste their food...I am thinking about getting some Cornish
myself, although I have a supposed Americauna which is heavy as lead and
produces great chicks.
