black cochins

Should black to black cochins produce all black chicks ? I hatched eggs from
a trio of black cochins, ( I saw these,they were black ! ).Out of six eggs,
two were infertile and one died soon after hatching, only one of the three
remaining appears to be black ( they are just feathering up ) ,one partially
black and one a buff colour !
