Yes - quite squishy with no sharp edges - the old ones used to have a really
sharp leading edge didn't they?
We have never had a problem with them getting stuck in birds but the flat
band ones our birds ping off in no time.
I remember one batch of 100 black rocks we merged with an flock a year
older. All the 6 month old birds were ringed with blue flat bands - over the
following week it looked like the field was covered in blue confetti and by
the end of a fortnight only about 20 birds still had a ring on !!!
All our breeding birds have tamperproof numbered identification rings on.
