One per three hens is the advised number. You could probably get away with
1 per 5. It would also depend on what sort of hens they are. If they are
hybrids and likely to lay every day, I'd err on the side of caution and give
them plenty. The last thing you want is for them to learn to egg eat if an
egg smashes on the floor.
