Yesterday one of the dogs from next door squeezed under their fence and
attacked one of our five hens. Much squawking attracted my daughter who
witnessed the assault.
There are a lot of feathers missing. A bald patch, but no cuts.
Neighbour is penitent promissing action on the fence.
Victim is a little timid today, but venturing around the garden still.
I hadn't realised quite how attached and proud we are of our family extras.
Each with a name and a character. They have only been with us eight weeks.
We have buried a number of pets over the years. Old age is one thing.
Death by dog quite different. Now everyone wants to talk about foxes.....
I have read in the book that if I go out and mark my territory.... What
will the neighbours think!
