it very much depends on genetics and age. Krys has had young hens that
even laid two eggs a day for a while, but that is really really rare. A
lot of breeders don't select for egg numbers, and these strains often
don't lay daily, or only during a short period of the year.

Some lay their egg fairly quickly, and some stay in the nest box up to
one and a half or two hours. Some just get up quietly and sneak out of
the coop, and others cackle so excitedly that they start an alarm in the
whole village. ;-) well, almost. They all seem to be thirsty after
laying.
