I know. And as you get more experienced (aka older) you realise that there
aren't all that many who fit that description :-(
Books have been my life, I don't want them to be treated as items of a)
monetary value or b) trivia ...

We did. We're back. It was wet on Friday and from 2 am this morning
(Monday). But Saturday and Sunday were dry enough for the horses and
men-at-arms. It was good. The hens were in heaven - Gen's first event. Zen
seemed to take a delight in showing her the ropes - how to get through the
barrier into the bridleway, how to solicit (aka steal) food from visitors in
other tents - but she couldn't dissuade Gen from walking under the legs of
the six-deep audience during the final battle and trying to get into the
battlefield ... I managed to pull her back.
I suspect that Zen must be laying out at home, she's laid in the coop while
we've been away and in the Eglu at a son's while we were at Berkeley Castle,
but there's been nothing between times at home. We're going to have a sweep
of the garden tomorrow.
Unless it rains ...
