Ronny:
You can measure the humidity by using a hygrometer. I have a digital
electronic one I got at Wal-Mart for about $15. It has the temp and
humidity on it;but I wouldn't trust the temp part for incubating.
And if you just have one channel in the bottom of your incubator for
water, then I would fill that one and watch that it didn't run dry as the
incubation processed.
BTW,that link I put in for GFQ Manufacturing, in my other post to
you, they are the ones that invented the Hova-Bator,so I hope you can
look on that webpage to see just what model # incubator you have and
then they should be able to send you an instruction booklet for yours.
And when you're looking at their webpage,go to the (replacement parts
page) and look under the pic of the Turbo Fan. Then see if that part is
in the top of your particular incubator? Will be nice if it is because
those Turbo Fan/forced air types are supposed to be better at hatching
than the still air types.
And before you incubate you really need to get a new Thermostat Wafer
for your incubator. Better to have that than have the thing mess up in
the middle of incubation! And the good part is a new Thermostat Wafer
only costs about $6 plus shipping and postage.
And GFQ also makes a sanitary plastic liner for the bottoms of their
Hova-Bator incubators,so if you don't have one of those with yours,it
would really be nice if you could get one. Would make the bottom cleanup
much easier after hatching. Just be sure their liner fits your model #.
That's about all I can think of for now. :-) Gonna snip off the rest of
your post because Jill already answered your questions on that and she
know a whole lot more about chickens and incubating their eggs than I
do! LoL
