Ronny:
You can measure the humidity by using a
hygrometer. I have a digital electronic
one I got at Wal-Mart for about $15. It
has the temp and humidity on it;but I
wouldn't trust the temp part for
incubating.
Deb:
Thanks. Where about are you located? I'm
south central Oregon. Not too often that
I see the name of Wal-Mart on this site.
Ronny 10/26:
You're welcome. :-)
I'm down here in rural NE Texas, about halfway between Dallas &
Texarkana. Been up to Oregon twice, beautiful state;but that was a long
time ago. :-)
Ronny:
BTW,that link I put in for GFQ
Manufacturing, in my other post to
you, they are the ones that invented the
Hova-Bator,so I hope you can look on
that webpage to see just what model #
incubator you have and then they should
be able to send you an instruction
booklet for yours.
Deb:
I did go to their site and already
downloaded the instructions. Thanks for
that link! No, I do not have the Turbo
Fan. :o(
Ronny 10/26:
Great. :-)
Just wish you had the Turbo Fan though as it does help keep the temp
more uniform in all parts of the incubator.or so they say. :-)
Ronny:
And before you incubate you really need
to get a new Thermostat Wafer
Deb:
It came with a new one in the box, along
with the old one in the unit.
Ronny 10/26:
Now that is great! :-)
Ronny:
And GFQ also makes a sanitary plastic
liner for the bottoms of their
Deb:
I think I am going to go with the
caulking tip that someone else posted.
Sounds a lot easier that searching for
the proper liner and this incubator may
only be a quick stepping stone for me as
I have found a lot nicer ones on-line
during my searches.
Ronny:
That's about all I can think of for now.
:-) Gonna snip off the rest of your post
because Jill already answered your
questions on that and she know a whole
lot more about chickens and incubating
their eggs than I do! LoL
Deb:
It is nice having other peoples opinions
and experiences to learn from. But I do
agree that Jill is one of our best
resources when it comes to learning the
hard way. Thank goodness we have got
her!
Thanks a bunch!
