That probably explains it. I'm new to all this too but as I understand
it commerical hybrid breeds like Black Rocks are more likely to keep
laying when the days get shroter than pure breeds. It's what they're
bred for!

I'm in the UK (near Bristol)and my 3 Black Rocks (9 months old) are
all still laying. They've slowed down a little though - 1-2 eggs per
day rather than 3.
They haven't properly moulted except for a bit of "neck moult" on one
that I think was triggered by one of the others establishing her place
in the pecking order a little forcefully!
