It would help if we knew where in the world you are. Different countries
have different regulations regarding keeping fowl. Do you want something
ornamental or something puely for eggs. Do you want bantam or large fowl?
Are you rural or in a town.If the latter there might be a covenant
preventing you from keeping livestock in your garden.
What do you consider to be a medium sized garden? *I* consider 1/3 acres to
be a medium sized garden, but then I have always lived very rural where
gardens are this size.
