Shawn,

Is that the Fertrell recipe? If so, it is thoroughly studied and tested,
and does great for my ladies when I can get all the ingredients (Fertrell
Nutri-Balancer and Aragonite).

The alfalfa meal is extremely healthy for the birds also, in fact, I add
rabbit feed to the layer pellets to give my girls good vegetable matter to
build them up in winter to prepare for spring.

Fertrell is not well known, but is a truly top quality line of products (no,
I don't own stock in them, just wish I could get their stuff for less than a
3 hour round trip!) The cool specialty feed store an hour east of me will
happily use the Fertrell recipe for me out of local grains, if I provide the
stuff they don't carry (Aragonite and Nutri-balancer).

Find out the costs of shipping the Aragonite and Nutri-balancer and make
sure your feed mill can get alfalfa meal. It may be cheaper to get a large
order of the Nutri-balancer and Aragonite than to pay shipping more often,
since there is a base chanrge or something.

I sometimes buy a bag of Fertrell crab meal for the birds also, it contains
both protein AND calcium, and the ladies LOVE it! (stinky stuff that it is,
why do so many critters LOVE to eat stinky stuff??)

If you email Fertrell, they can tell you the percentage of protein, etc. for
this recipe.

Enjoy! This recipe has done very well for my birds, I just wish I could get
the Fertrell ingredients more easily .
