I want to build a small coop for two to three hens. I live in Texas in zone
8 for gardening. How big should ventilation be for hot humid nights? How
big should it be to give enough shade in daytime? Should it be insulated
for cold nights? Should I put it next to the house or further away? How
much should the roof be angled? Does it need shingles? Where can I get
plans for building one? My initial idea is to build one where I can lift up
the front top half for more shade like an awning and open the bottom half
so the whole front is open. Would the dimensions of 6 foot high by 4 feet
wide and deep be enough? How high do they like their nest box to be off the
ground? Thank you for your help.
