Thanks for the great response.
The coop is an equilateral triangle in cross section, so the maths is quite
easy.
The roosting bar is about 27 inches long. Assume the birds are evenly
spaced across the bar, their centres would be at 9 inches.
At that point, there is about 15 inches of head room.
So, I think you are right - just too cramped.
My neighbour has the same coop and breed of birds. His birds are
significantly smaller than mine. It's too late at night now for me to ask
him, but I'll check tomorrow if his birds roost or lie in the nests.
