No its not, in fact I think its pretty clever to think about it- whether
another creature looks at the world in the same way as we do.... a lot
of people never come to think about that...

Well, here's what my book says on chicken anatomy:
Chickens (and I think birds in general) can see very well. They can see
nearly 360 degrees around them, and can also react very quickly. They do
not, however, have very good muscles to move their eyeballs, that's why
they move their heads instead.
Chickens can spot a grain of wheat that lies about one metre away from
them. They also judge the food they find by the way it looks, much more
than by its taste. If you change, lets say, the brand of your layers'
pellets, and the new ones are different in colour and size, they might
refuse to eat them for a day or two.
