Do you actually read what you write?
The average age of a cat is around 15 years, considerably longer than
YOUR maximum chicken age of 9. The oldest cat lived to over 25 years.
"I don't lose many" - So you have lost some then!
I did not ever say I had no regard for my chickens and give them the
bare minimum or that it does not matter if they die. But I will be
honest and say my household pets do come higher in my affections. But
that does not mean I ignore the wellfare of the chickens. In fact, as
I am not " a small hobby breeder" my chickens eat the same as my
family does and so are probably looked after better than yours.
You really need to get out more.
