I am getting rid of them because in order to concentrate on the Belgian
bantams I have to make room. In order to play a part in helping avoid the
Barbu d' everberg becoming extinct I plan to breed them.
I am a hobby breeder and care for all my birds, even the boring ones which
will be found new homes with caring people who want pekins. What did you
think I was going to do? Torture them to death, leave them out for the fox
to take? Drive far away and dump them in a field somewhere?
There is a world of difference between someone selling poultry surplus to
requirements, and someone providing minimum care, giving them unsuitable
diets and not caring if they die and throwing them in the dustbin.
I doubt you will see the difference though. There are none so blind as them
that do not wish to see.
