Jill,
It's not a tonic, though. It's antibacterial, and antifungal. I have done
some tests of my own and seen its effectiveness. There is also lots of
scientific research out there to be found.
The first time I used it there was some kind of chronic diarrhea going on
with my birds, and it cleared up.
I have also used it for antifungal purposes, and was quite amazed.
This year I am considering giving them aloe vera juice (I have tons of them)
as it seems to be rather miraculous as well. I used the gel on a bad peck
wound on a bird after the stupid antibacterial ointment made it worse.
Overnight, it looked 100% better! There is nothing like that pine tar stuff
to protect the wounds when they go back out with their pecky friends!
I am not familiar with the difference in the H5N1 strain. What is its
difference? Simply a more virulent strain? A mutation? I have not been on
the group for a time and am behind on these things.
