duck questions

Hello,

I know I have seen it somewhere on this NG, but now I can't find it. So
I guess I have to ask....

Our KC's and BS's are now 3 weeks old. This morning I noticed that one
of the BS's had it's bill open wide, neck drawn down. He did this a few
times. There isn't anything that they can chock on. There is plenty of
water available. No sound was coming out of his mouth when he was doing
this. (at least we think it's a male) Then later on a KC did the same
thing, open bill, neck drawn down, and no sound.

Is there a problem with my babies or is this just something they do.
They don't quack yet either. Is this something they do to prepare them
for their adult sound?

Yes we are new at this. So any help will be greatly appreciated. They
only did this a few times and seem to be fine now.

THanks for the help,
Pauline
