no more chickens for me :-(

Firstly I'd like to say how very grateful I am for all the help and
patience you have given me here on sci.agriculture.poultry. Jill in
particular I will never forget.

I am giving my 2 ladies to a friend with much more space than my back
garden. Firstly, they will have more space to bok around, secondly when
one dies I will not be in a panic to find a companion for the other as
my friend already has a dozen hens. The only worry is that they might
not get on but I will keep my coop for a month in case. Also, it's a
cop out cos I won't have to deal with them getting ill or old. They are
both 3 and slowing down in the egg department. Well, red hen hasn't
even started this year :-)

I am very sad to see them go but I want to reclaim the garden, have
some of that green stuff back in it and even some of those flower
things. I want to garden with my toddler and I want to be able to leave
the back door open without a chicken coming in.

I have to drive them 200 miles, would they be happier in a dark box or
a wire cat cage? I will do water stops.

Ahh the ladies, it's a sad day.
