Going on Holiday Without my Hens

I'm going on holiday for a week in a couple of months time, and I'm looking
at what to do with my hens. They (1 year old cockerel, and 5 hens, 4 of
which are still only 6mo, and one 1yo) all get on together free ranging at
the moment, they have about 0.25 acre of ground with grass, trees, bushes,
and a sort of rough area where we keep stuff waiting for a bonfire and the
chikens love to scratch. At night they choose where to roost, they have a
small ark, and a bigger one, and usually they all squash into the small one
and I have to go out and redistribute them later! When I go away I don't
know whether to get a run attached to a house so that they will all be
together in that,or to keep the cockerel separate (he might get cabin fever
in a run and take it out on the hens) or just let them range as usual. I
usually go out to see them every hour or so and I want them to be happy
while I'm away.
What do you think?
