There are two aspects to your decision - food and predators.
Food and water are easy. Get a large 5 gallon metal feeder and hang
it in the dry full of layer pellets. That should be plenty for 6
birds for a week. For water, hook up an automatic water system.
The predator aspect is more difficult. I would not leave them out
during that time. They should be in a predator proof house, yard or
cage. Remember that dogs are predators too.
