Tea Tree Oil for bumblefoot?

Hello again,
Has anyone used Tea tree Oil to cure bumblefoot? I've read (somewhere on the internet, sorry no url) that it will cure bumblefoot, but when I searched further I also that it can be toxic to avians and other pets. Any personal experience with the stuff?
