Introducing new chickens

Hi again.
I haven't been around this group for a while, and I know this must be a
subject that gets raised regularly, but I want some advice on how to
introduce new girls to my existing ones.
I currently have 3 (used to be 4) ex-battery chickens. I've had them a year
(exactly) and, apart from the one with the runny bum, they're doing very
well, and still laying.
I'm about to get another 3.
Knowing the dreadful state my three were in a year ago I want to be able to
introduce the new ones without too much added trauma.

Any suggestions please.

Martyn
