Crusty cob

We've got a broody who is currently sitting a clutch. She's a street
accident by breed (Solid Sid the speckled Sussex is her father, and her
mother is a "Speckled Belle"), but even when lifted from the eggs (and shut
away from them) she won't eat, drink, or mute. I've never seen this before -
any ideas, anyone?

BTW - Sexlink cross. Speckled Sussex seem to be genetic golds, and exchequer
Leghorns genetic silvers, if that's of interest or use to anyone.
