Reunite duckling with mother??

One of my Rouen hatched ducklings last night, so I believe the lone duckling
I found a couple days ago was an early hatch of hers. Can I reunite it with
the mother? Books and websites have many conflicting opinions: never do it,
always do it, do it at night but watch them (how can I watch them in the
dark??). If I do it at night and she rejects it, it would be VERY difficult
to chase it and catch it while carrying a flashlight.

Anyone ever have success with this?
