Hi Matt,
That was really interesting as there is limited info on the spray bottle. I know it is not registered for poultry in Australia but I have tried Maldison/malathion as well as pyrethrim(sp?)dips and sprays and nothing has kept the stickfast fleas away or even killed all the fleas on the combs and wattles. If I don't treat them the poultry will eventually die from anemia as has happened to some of my little chicks when they have a heavy flea burden. The vet said they are in the soil and I'll never get rid of them which is a bit depressing.
Still I will bear in mind what was on the websites and be alot more cautious in its use and thankyou for the info.
Ginny
Technically Ginny, I don't think 'Frontline' is approved for use on poultry!
Anyway the active ingredient in Frontline is FIPRONIL and you will learn as much as you like (and probably more than you want) here
http://www.fluorideaction.org/pesticides/msla/fipronil.html
http://www.fluorideaction.org/pesticides/fipronil--page.htm
IF the thyroid claim on that site are anything to go by, I don't think I ever want to use it again, having a genetic predisposition to thyroid problems anyway.
Matt
