Hello,
Just on line today with boradband. Anyway Hens lay on a 25 hour cycle, but
will have to stop laying during the moult, its shell or feather. But at
this time of year with the long nights a chicken would quickly come back
into lay. Also if you left a hen to sit on a cluch of eggs she would stop
laying or risk having to many young to feed. Its this trait that enables us
to have birds to provide my dinner.
Hope this helps a bit
Ian a proud daddy (of chicks) to be.
