thanks for sending the link to this useful page, I've bookmarked it
because sometimes I don't remember the proper English expressions for
chicken details :-)

The Silkie's comb is described in the German standard as being a short
rosecomb without spike, similar to a halved walnut.

A Buttercup's comb is cup-shaped, starting with a leader like a single
comb, but then dividing into two combs, as it were, forming the cup.
Ideally, it should be closed again at the back, but more often than not
it isn't. It does not, however, resemble a Silkie's comb in any way, not
even in colour ;-)
