We live in Washington. The area is pretty rural and heavily wooded. I
don't know too much about predators, I would assume coyote. I know a
lot of the growing areas near the mountains in the puget sound have
problems with them. I am thinking penned, but I don't know the
pros/cons of either as I have no experince. We don't have a hen house.
We were thinking of building something simple. We are not huge egg
eaters so I want just enough for our family (5 of us) maybe with a few
left over for friends and such. So I'm not sure on the amount of birds?
Maybe 2? The weather is pretty drab most of the time. Generally warm
summers, cold rainy winters. Our property is wooded with lots of shady
areas. As to the kind of bird...you'd have to give me a recommendation.
:) I've never done this before, we lived in an apartment in the "city"
before.
The only animals we have are indoor cats. The neighboors have dogs, but
also have fenced yards. We have an almost 2 yr old, so she'd be around
them.
