My little red hen looks like Skeletor

Anyone care to guess what the matter is with this Rhode Island Red? She is
one of six hens, the other being a Barred Rock and four Golden Comets. Ever
since the spring the feathers on her back grew in very short, the feathery
parts of her tail feathers are also ratty looking. None of the other
chickens show anything like this - they are in excellent shape. The RIR is
alert, lays an egg almost every day, and is as energetic as the other birds.

Here is a lousy picture - both she and I were moving when the picture was
taken.
