The hens in an established territory would try to kill her.
It's a chicken thing!
Now if you were to bring 2 or 3 new bantams into HER territory, that
would work much better. :-)
While chickens may be social birds and are supposed to be happier in a
flock, does your little hen seem to be unhappy? I doubt it.
Single chickens as pets do just fine!
I have a single baby pullet in a cage right now.
She was the only one that hatched from 3 of the last eggs set in my
incubator. She is being handled a lot and is doing well by herself and
is staying very tame.
It's going to take very special measures on my part to join her to the
flock of 4 chickens I have left, but I know what to do. It will be a
time consuming hassle to do it, but I have the facilities.
Is the person with the neighboring flock willing to take the measures
required to introduce a single hen and keep the other hens from trying
to kill her?
I doubt it.
Leave things alone for now if you don't personally want a larger flock!
