only very sort of
:~)
There were birds in quarentine. Some from Taiwan and some parrots from
elsewhere. The parrots showed AI and all were culled. The highest
probability is that the Taiwanese birds were carriers. It is an area that
has been caught up with outbreaks for years
WHAT on EARTH we are all doing still importing birds from the 10 countries
that have been so affected and most of whom now have endemic H5N1 I have no
idea but that is the stupidity of the politics up to now
Its only the fact that its on the move that the world governments have
FINALLY woken up to what is happening

Ours just herd fortunately -- they make a lot of noise about it but are fine

That is what we have done with the few we have ever had. But we found you
need to shut them in for weeks before they get the idea of coming home at
night. Fortunately the few we have live with the Marans - their choice and
any new birds are kept in a house and run for as long as we think we need
but eventually join the Marans too

Young guineas are in a covered run attached to their night

We are WET - WET - WET - 23mm the other day
not too cold yet

thanks :~)
We wanted to go and photograph the local graveyard today but its pouring
with rain and very dark so its a glam trip around the supermarket, copying
some super large 1755 maps of the area so we can scribble on the copies and
probably an hour or two in the library -- oh what a glamourous life we lead
!!!
