Inger, this is a bit of a mystery to me.
How do you know this guy? I never saw his original
message, only the one with your reply.
Did you bring it to sci.arch? If so, why?
This "tomstdenis" looks like some kind of bot to me.
See http://tinyurl.com/cyna3

The post you're talking about is known as a "joe job", a
forgery that attempts to attribute posts to some specific
person, usually intended to produce public embarrassment,
loss of credibility and a lame attempt to get the object of
this abuse "kill-filed" so that he can't communicate with
anyone without some inconvenience. It was cross-posted to
sci.archaeology and sci.agriculture.poultry, among others,
on the whim of a sick, childish, morally bankrupt person.

These posts are probably coming from some self-styled
"genius" who recently visited sci.crypt with yet another
"brilliant" (and, of course, "unbreakable") crytographic
system who was promptly rebuffed by most of the regulars,
Tom St Denis being one of the most abrupt. There are
several reasons for suspecting this particular individual,
not the least of which is that during the recent festivities
on sci.crypt, he/she/it kept adding cross-posting to a dozen
news groups where the topic under discussion was irrelevant,
as he has done with the posts you were questioning.

It is very likely this same cretin that has been flooding
USENET for several days with forged "Cancel" messages
directed at sci.crypt in an attempt to disrupt any
possibility of communications. If you want to see the
effect of this, access sci.crypt through Google. You'll see
that there is virtually no history.

It's just another pathetic example of the parasitic scum
that troll around USENET and another reason for viewing
everything, especially attributions, which are easy to
forge, with a jaundiced eye.

Thank you for your information John.

I restricted this reply to your(?) sci.agriculture.poultry,
wich I am not reading. Nothing personal, only trying
to keep things clear.
