I agree. The Polish Top Hats are the funniest looking ones. McMurray
Hatchery
in Iowa will sell you 25 assorted ones in a Top Hat Special. I got one with
my
regular order once as a bonus chicken. They always throw in one rare bird.
On the serious side, I like for my flock to include fairly equal numbers of
Rhode Island Reds (brown eggs), Buff Orpingtons (only ones that will set on
and hatch eggs), Barred Plymouth Rocks (feathers nice for fly tying), White
Leghorns (white eggs), and Araucanas (blue eggs). I like 23 hens and 2
Brown Leghorn roosters. They are the prettiest ones: like those on
children's story books.
