Rats !


Hi,

I came home yesterday lunch time to find my chickens in the middle of the
field sharing there
dog biscuits with a rat. The rat proceeded to carry on with its dinner up to
the point where
it feared for its life. It then exited stage left.

There is nothing i can do to stop rats in the country i know but should i be
worried?
I know there they will come where there is food. But as the chooks are free
range
there is not a lot i can do really???

I have been to th elocal store and they dont have any in-humane rat traps
left so ill
have to wait to get one.

I have another problem tho. I have a rather cute hedgehod that hang out in
my garden
ever since i ring fenced the chicken area (think i fenced him out)
I dont mind him ,he's ok, dont want to get him in the rat trap.
