I have two cats. I would not trust either of them with chicks or young fowl
so I keep young birds in lidded runs.
One of them I wouldn't trust with small bantams either.
They are both completely safe with large hens, they don't even consider them
as prey.
A cat that tries to take an adult large chicken for prey is a very hungry
and desperate cat, IMO.
