MArk -- have a great festive season whereever you are
Get yourself re-established in your career whereever that needs to be and
then start extending your boundaries in your spare time
You may find that areas closer to the South can give you a more acceptible
compromise
Get to know a place for a few years. Living in an area where it is common
for folks to make life-changing moves to - we find those folks who make the
easiest move for themselves are those who are almost local before they make
the final jump. They know people in the area, they have been in all the
weather, and have taken on board many of the disadvantages.
I hope you do find some happy medium in the future --if we are all still
here let us know
When you are looking for your place in London try and find a garden !!! - or
even go for an allotment - then you can get chickens sooner rather than
later. There are lots of them now !
Good luck and happy Christmas
