Hi Nuele,

I am originally from Southern California. While I have not done the
research you have done there were a lot of cases reported there from
squirrel bits. Did you see anything about that? For awhile there were
postings in all the State and National Forests warning about the
problem. With a total of only 47 cases since 1990 I am really surprised
at the prevention/precautions that are taken. I suppose that is easy to
say for a person that does not have rabies.
