I have found that the Welsumer club folks have always been very kind to
anyone who has called - I have sent a number of people that way over the
years. You can always start with a short explanation of the query and ask if
there is a better time to call or if they could recommend someone to call.
Most of the club secretaries are very good at helping people source birds.
Many members do not want to be included on any public lists [often due to
fears of theft] so no one will have access to them, except through the
secretary. Only a few require you to join - usually for good reasons. The
other thing about distance is that some breeders can be quite mobile
themselves, some travel the length and breadth of the country during the
year, so its worth getting in touch - you may get lucky and be able to meet
up somewhere more convenient to yourself
