you want to try and avoid it - hence using the experienced eye and the
effective tools :~)
The vet would also have styptics

These claws are going to be pretty tough probably and you could do damage by
using tools that are not up to the job by crushing rather than clipping.

Its what she is free ranging on -- there seems to be no natural wear. Its
pretty unusual for feet to get like this but then she is not of the most
active breeds so that does not help
Think emery board :~)) - hence my idea of a sand pit
