Hi Everyone,
I have a white orphington hen that is slightly less than a year old
that is having difficulty standing up. All my chicks were vacinated
for Marek's & Coccidiosis when I purchases them from the hatchery. At
first I thought she had injured or broken her leg, but upon closer
inspection her leg seems fine. She seemed to be favoring one leg but
now is having difficulty standing at all.
Any thoughts on what might be wrong with her and how it could be
treated? Thanks for any replies.

Is she very heavy /very large?
It may be genetic weakness that is becoming increasingly common it seems in
the breeding of these large breeds. Folks are trying to achieve bigger birds
but they have not the breadth of genetic pool or the skills at culling to
create healthy large birds.
It may be that she has damaged ligaments from jumping from something?
What height are their perches?
There are mycoplasma's that can cause joint problems?
I would suggest you find an experienced poultry person to examine here as
its impossible to do more than guess from behind our screens
good luck
