The latest reports says that Indian Government have directed its
officials to slaughter thousands of birds around the poultry farms in
the western town of Navapur, where the confirmed cases were detected .
As the presence of virus is proved the officials said that around
500,000 will be killed . Till now around 30,000 chickens have died in
Navapur in Maharashtra state , this happened to be a major poultry firm
in the country .Initially the officials believed that the birds must
have died of New castle disease which is also a bird illness but it was
later confirmed that the death was due to bird flu only .
It has also hit Indonesia where a person died of this disease .He was
in touch with the poultry .The Egyptian government on Friday announced
the country's first cases of H5N1 .
Thus it is seen that the bird flu is spreading its wings like anything .
