Actually it's the other way round - the big speckled one is from the
Welsummer and the plain old brown one from a cuckoo maran... I was hoping
for darker ones from the maran, but lifes not always perfect!
I'll have to take some photos of ours when I find the digital camera. We
do get the occasional unspeckled one, but almost all of the Maran eggs
are speckled -- out of eleven in the kitchen at the moment, only one
isn't speckled.
