My friend has a varying flock of 15 - 50 and they hang around the house as well as exploring the forests. There is no more evidence of their presence than a garden flock of chickensThat is something good to hear. I did wonder if the garden would become their picnic area.
I have to admit I have not read the book we sell on peacocks so can't help at all thereNot much of a problem for me. The chooks destroyed all the petunias so I think I'll replant with roses this winter.
:~)
They ARE beautiful when they are displaying
They DO eat herbaceous borders
They take a number of years to come into plumage - and are pretty drab before thenThanks Jill. Now I just have to convince hubby. Sitting on the house roof may prove a problem as we collect and drink our rainwater, not being on mains here. Can they be detered or will surrounding tall trees offer better roosting?
They DO love to sit on the house and make one heck of a racketGo on:~)
