Even though I live in a slightly cooler area now the habit havesn't died off yet although with winter coming on I get to sleep in until 6am or maybe even 6.30!
They DO love to sit on the house and make one heck of a racket
Don't they just?
A few years back I went to a wedding at Monkey Island near Maidenhead,
where they have peafowl roaming freely around the grounds. It was an
exceptionally alcoholic day (and night) and I eventually made it to bed
at around 4am, only to be woken up again at around 6:30am by the noise
they were making, despite the previous day's excesses.
